APEGA describes a practitioner in engineering as a person with an engineering bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least four years of engineering work experience. The BOE assesses validator education, experience, designation, and acceptability as of the date the validation forms are completed, not only when the project occurred.
Does an APEGA Validator Have to Be a P.Eng.?

What Is the Modified Reference Questionnaire (MRefQ)?
APEGA sends an MRefQ to each reference identified in the finalized WRVL. The reference reviews dates, work-experience details, and the validator named for that record. Comments are strongly encouraged, and each MRefQ must be completed. The questionnaire verifies chronology; it does not ask the reference to score CBAT competencies.
MRefQs are confidential. Because the email is automated, references should check spam, junk, and quarantine folders. An outstanding MRefQ can prevent the application from proceeding.
What Is the Validator Response Form (VRF)?
APEGA sends a VRF for every competency assigned to a validator near the beginning of the application process after the finalized WRVL and CBAT are submitted.
