Choose the Authority
Engineers Australia, ACS, and the Department of Home Affairs each set their own minimums. Pick the one that matches what you are lodging.
Check your IELTS, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, or Cambridge C1 Advanced scores against Engineers Australia, ACS, and Australian visa requirements. Get a live band-by-band result, a 3-year validity check, and your visa English level, all in one place.
Choose the authority you are checking against, select your test, and enter your four component scores. Results update band by band, because every component must meet the minimum on its own.
This checker compares component scores only. Your result must also be valid, verifiable, and accepted by the authority at the time of assessment.
The checker reviews each test component separately. Do not rely only on your overall score. Your Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking results must each meet the required minimum.
Engineers Australia, ACS, and the Department of Home Affairs each set their own minimums. Pick the one that matches what you are lodging.
Engineers Australia uses different scores for applications before and after 1 January 2026. The tool switches automatically when you select EA.
A strong overall score never compensates for one weak band. Writing is the most common band to fall short for engineering applicants.
Add your test date and the tool flags results older than three years, which generally need to be retaken before assessment.
For visa points, the tool shows whether you reach Competent, Proficient (+10), or Superior (+20) English across all four bands.
If a band is below the minimum, book your retake before finishing your Career Episodes so your timeline does not slip.
Quick reference for the scores built into this tool. Always confirm the current requirements on the official authority website before lodging.

Prepare your English evidence before you upload your CDR or visa documents so nothing holds up your assessment.
Submit a result from a secure test centre and an accepted test type. Keep the report or registration number ready.
Review Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking separately. A single low band can make the whole result fall short.
Your result must still be valid (usually within 3 years) and verifiable at the time of assessment.
If one component is below the minimum, schedule a retake early so your CDR timeline does not slip.
Once your English evidence is ready, organise your documents and start your CDR with a clear submission plan. Get expert guidance before you lodge your Engineers Australia application.
